kmr: A command to correct survey weights for unit nonresponse using groups’ response rates

چکیده

In this article, we describe kmr, a command to estimate microcompliance function using groups’ nonresponse rates (Korinek, Mistiaen, and Ravallion, 2007, Journal of Econometrics 136: 213–235), which can be used correct survey weights for unit nonresponse. We illustrate the use kmr with an empirical example current population state-level rates.

Using Propensity Scores to Adjust Weights to Compensate for Dwelling Unit Level Nonresponse in the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey

The Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS) is sponsored by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). MEPS, a complex national probability sample survey, is conducted to provide nationally representative estimates of health care use, expenditures, sources of payment, and insurance coverage for the U.S. civilian noninstitutionalized population. It comprises three component surveys w...

Correcting for Survey Nonresponse Using Variable Response Propensity

All surveys with less than full response potentially suffer from nonresponse bias. Poststratification weights can only correct for selection into the sample based on observables whose distribution is known in the population. Variables such as gender, race, income, and region satisfy this requirement because they are available from the U.S. Census Bureau, but poststratification based on these va...

Multiple Imputation to Correct for Nonresponse Bias: Application in Non-communicable Disease Risk Factors Survey.

BACKGROUND This study was carried out to use multiple imputation (MI) in order to correct for the potential nonresponse bias in measurements related to variable fasting blood glucose (FBS) in non-communicable disease risk factors survey conducted in Iran in 2007. METHODS Five multiple imputation methods as bootstrap expectation maximization, multivariate normal regression, univariate linear r...

Compensating for provider nonresponse using response propensities to form adjustment cells: the National Immunization Survey.

OBJECTIVES The National Immunization Survey (NIS) uses two phases of data collection to obtain vaccination information from a sample of young children: a random-digit-dialing (RDD) survey for identifying households with children 19-35 months of age, followed by a mail survey for obtaining provider-reported vaccination histories about these children. Provider-reported vaccination histories are u...

Use of multiple imputation to correct for nonresponse bias in a survey of urologic symptoms among African-American men.

The Flint Men's Health Study is an ongoing population-based study of African-American men designed to address questions related to prostate cancer and urologic symptoms. The initial phase of the study was conducted in 1996-1997 in two stages: an interviewer-administered survey followed by a clinical examination. The response rate in the clinical examination phase was 52%. Thus, some data were m...
